The greens were made to survive through cold weather by keeping them covered, although the greenhouse suffered a bit, harvest continued. Some plants experienced cold chlorosis, which is a condition caused by the plant's inability to draw nutrients in the cold, but it is not much that can be done about it during such chilly conditions.

The Jeffy pots from the bok choy can be turned over and opened up for planting seeds, such as peas, without disturbing the plant, which is beneficial since peas can be sensitive to transplantation.

A few flowering plants are saved and trimmed back to be put into the garden to attract early insects beneficial to the garden.

By starting peas in a greenhouse using a variety such as Sugar Daddy, which can handle heat better than other types, and transplanting them into the garden without disturbing them, it's possible to get peas going for early spring. This method is effective for areas that get hot quickly, like Albuquerque.

Tiny Tim is a type of tomato plant that is good for containers and can be grown on a porch. It's a small bush variety that blooms early and continually produces small tomatoes throughout the summer. It can be cut back and will grow again, making it a consistent and easy producer.

It was observed that cutting bok choy back with the expectation it would grow again was not entirely successful, as it did sprout but went directly to bloom, which although enjoyable, resulted in smaller yields.

The garden will be redesigned to provide new land to grow tomatoes on, and to move the tomatoes around, which suggests a rotation to prevent soil depletion and disease build-up. The idea is to refresh the garden layout to suit the needs of spring vegetable planting.
