Tomato Gardening : How to Grow Hybrid Tomatoes

To grow hybrid tomatoes, you will need good soil. Amend your soil with compost and dig a hole the same size as your pot, plus a little bit extra. Add an all-purpose fertilizer, making sure the second number (phosphorus) is the highest. You can also add a small amount of mycorrhizal to the hole. Water the tomato an hour before planting using a kelp meal tea to help with shock. Carefully remove it from the pot and plant it, building up the soil around it. For determinate varieties, use a cage, and for indeterminate varieties, use a trellis or larger cage. Fertilize every three weeks with organic fertilizer and keep the soil moist. Keep an eye out for tomato worms and remove any diseased parts. Use a drip hose instead of overhead sprinklers for watering.
