Tomato Gardening : How to Artificially Ripen Tomatoes

One simple method is to place the tomatoes in a bag with a ripe apple. The gases emitted by the apple will cause the tomatoes to ripen quickly. Another method is to individually wrap the tomatoes in newspaper and store them in a cool spot in the house, such as a pantry or root cellar. Make sure the tomatoes do not touch each other when storing.
