Peony Growing Guide!!! How to Plant, Grow, Harvest, Divide, & Transplant Peonies

🌺 Peonies are beautiful, late spring blooms that have a sweet fragrance and can transport you back to fond memories.

🌺 Peonies should be planted in an area that receives full sun and has well-draining soil, with the growth points of the root just slightly buried.

🌺 Peonies perform best in zones three through eight, with a soil pH of 6.5 to 7, and they need at least 60 days of cold winter temperatures to flower properly.

🌺 When planting bare root peonies, loosen the soil, amend the planting hole with compost, and make sure to cover the eyes with only one and a half to two inches of soil.

🌺 After planting, water the peony root well and give it room to grow, as peonies can reach a height and width of three by three feet.

🌺 Peonies benefit from a support system as they grow larger, and you can use them as cut flowers to prevent them from becoming top-heavy.

🌺 Peonies may take a few years to become well-rooted and established, but after year three, you'll have an abundance of blooms that only get better with time.
