Paint These 5 Flowers to Master Watercolor in 2023!

The focus of the video is to teach watercolor painting techniques using five different floral practices to help viewers gain confidence in their painting skills.

A watercolor sketch pad, a selection of brushes including a number eight round and a smaller round brush like a number four, a set of pan watercolors or any watercolors comfortable for the user, paper towel for blotting the brush, and two glasses of clean water are recommended.

To paint the rose, use a round brush to make several C curves to create a circle. Then, after rinsing the brush, blend the outer circle with water to allow the light pink paint to flow outward, creating a loose rose look. Add darker pink to the center while it is still lightly wet to define the rose petals further.

For the Cosmos, start with light purple paint and then once the paint is dry, add yellow ocher at the center to create depth, followed by a darker purple to outline the petals and add contrast with the wet on dry technique.

To create a lifelike geranium, mix a cool red and paint the petals with single brush strokes, creating a cluster with both light and dark tones. Add foliage using a green mix, and don't overwork the brush to maintain the contrast between different elements. Use brush work to make marks but make sure to allow the paint to sit without further manipulation.
