California has strict state regulations that prevent the transportation of certain plants, such as citrus, into the state to protect against viruses that have wiped out citrus in other parts of the country.

Moving to the desert means Cheryl has to adapt to different climate conditions, such as heat and the lack of rain. She needs to learn new gardening techniques, conserve water, and consider using tools like shade cloths and drip irrigation systems to maintain her garden.

Cheryl plans to create videos about her new experience as a desert gardener and winter sower, testing different gardening methods in her new environment, and sharing her learning process with her audience.
