What made you realize you wanted to change your life?

When I was on a school bus, I witnessed a girl being bullied and decided to stand up for her. The feeling of doing something good made me realize that I wanted to be a part of something greater and have a family.

What was the turning point in your life?

I had full intentions of either killing a police officer or getting killed to avoid going back to prison. However, during a meeting, a jail chaplain named John Miles talked about giving God control of your life, which made me realize that my life was out of control. That night, I surrendered and prayed for God to save me, which became the turning point in my life.

How did your newfound faith affect your relationships?

When offered methamphetamine by a friend named Cowboy, I declined because I had become a Christian. Cowboy, feeling inspired, asked me to pray with him, and together we flushed the drugs. This moment strengthened our friendship and showed me the power of God's influence.

What is your life like now?

Nowadays, I no longer engage in illegal activities and instead have a normal life. I have a billfold, a checking account, and even a garden. The police officer I once wanted to harm is now one of my best friends. Overall, I have transformed into a person I am proud to be.
