I am working on some long-postponed projects, including improving my vertical garden planters which were not getting rainwater and are now very dry.

The small vertical planters were installed in a location where there was no covering area, and they were only getting water when I manually watered them with a pipe.

I will place them in a location where they can receive rainwater, and I will trim the dried tops but keep the roots as they are still alive, hoping they will grow back with continued watering.

I am repurposing old items, like a disused bathroom shelf from the kitchen, as well as small containers which are good for planting cuttings, without needing to buy anything new.

I am using a tool that provides a clean cut, and I am cutting the cuttings into pieces that can be properly pressed into the planting medium.

You can use materials like old cooler pads for moisture retention, which is essential for maintaining plants in vertical gardens, especially in flats. It's also important to ensure the support structure, like an iron or wire frame, is strong enough to bear the weight once the plants are in place.

When filling vertical pots with soil, fill them lightly as they tend to hang a bit downwards due to gravity. Too much filling can cause them to fall when they are hung on the wall.
