FULL Nursery Tour : Six Week Plant Update! : Flower Hill Farm

Nicole from Flower Hill Farm is the person giving the tour in the video, showing her nursery and discussing the plants they have been growing for six weeks since purchasing and renovating the nursery.

The open house at Flower Hill Farm was a chance for the general public to come in and check out the place. It was an opportunity for the community to see the nursery and the plants being grown there.

Flower Hill Farm is planning to open for business on April 22nd.

On April 22nd, people can purchase soil, seeds, cool crops like broccoli, lettuces, cabbages, some perennials, and potentially hanging baskets, even though it's a couple of weeks earlier than they would normally sell them due to the frost date being mid to late May.

Nicole's biggest challenge is managing the workload between the flower farm, the nursery, and keeping up with YouTube posts. She mentions falling behind with YouTube because she has been prioritizing the plants, which are "lights and depth."

Nicole has set traps for the voles and has seen some of her plants, like the echinacea, being eaten. For aphids, she uses beneficial insects called aphid Eliminators to help maintain the aphid population.

Nicole has started using a method of just throwing tomato seeds into a tray and then transplanting the seedlings into six packs when they are ready. This method saves her a lot of time compared to her previous method of starting seeds in individual cells.
