🌽 The corn and other vegetables in the garden have shown remarkable growth after rectifying a nitrogen deficiency and beginning weekly feedings with organic liquid fertilizer.

🌱 The veggie garden was planted out at the end of June, and despite being behind schedule, the plants have caught up and are looking healthy.

🌶 Harvesting in the garden needs attention, especially for basil that is attempting to bolt and hot peppers that are overdue for picking, as some jalapenos have already turned red, indicating increased heat.

🍅 Tomato plants in the garden are recovering surprisingly well and are expected to produce tomatoes, while bell peppers already being harvested signal continued success.

🍉 The status of the watermelons, cantaloupes, and pumpkins are uncertain due to late planting, but there's hope for a few fruits if the first frost comes late in the season.

🌻 Sunflowers have been repeatedly consumed by deer, limiting their growth in the terrace garden.

🌾 The terrace garden's standout feature is a beautiful patch of zinnias, while ornamental grass like Miscanthus purpurascens has been strategically planted to create a visual barrier between manicured lawn and wildflower meadow.

🌳 A newly planted Cortland apple tree is showing healthy progress and the wildflower meadow, although patchy, continues to bring joy with the successful growth of perennials like black-eyed susans.

🌸 Initial plantings in the upper terrace garden beside the front porch include soft or aromatic plants like lamb's ear, catmint, and artemisia, chosen to engage a young child's senses.

🔨 Future plans include preparing for a fall garden in the veggie garden, planting a cover crop in the lower terrace garden, and constructing infrastructure for a new garden area.
