You'll need DK or size 3 cotton yarn in any colors you'd like, a size 3 and 3.5 millimeter crochet hook, a pair of scissors, and a yarn needle.

Start with a 3.5 millimeter crochet hook and make a magic circle, followed by a chain of three, then make 11 double crochets inside the magic circle with a chain of one in between each stitch.

After you've completed the first round, pull the starting end of your yarn to close the circle, make a slip stitch to end your round, chain one, cut your yarn, and then you'll attach your next color for round two.

In the sixth round of your crochet coaster, you'll make a slip knot with the chosen color for the flower base, attach the yarn to any chain five space, and then follow a pattern of double crochet, chain one, (three times), and a final double crochet followed by chaining three.

Once all the flowers are completed, you can weave in your ends or tie and cut them off as you prefer. For the flowers, you can connect the base of each flower with a yarn needle and tie the ends together before trimming any excess yarn.
