5 flowers NOT worth growing!

I am not growing tulips this year mainly for financial reasons, as they don't make sense for cut flower farming, and also because they don't perennialize well, especially the fancier kinds. Climate inconsistencies and environmental concerns over fungicide use on tulips also contribute to my decision.

The fungicide commonly used on tulips is also a medical antifungal, which is now encountering a fungicide-resistant strain of a fungus that can be fatal for people with compromised immune systems. Overuse in cut flowers and flower bulbs like tulips has contributed to this resistance, causing environmental concerns.

I have stopped growing Cosmos because they have a short vase life, drop petals quickly, can be invasive in some areas, and require regular deadheading. The apricot lemonade Cosmos in particular were disappointing in terms of bloom size and longevity.

I'm not growing chocolate lace flower again because it's a wildly invasive species, spreading easily and producing a large number of seeds, which persist in the garden year after year. Additionally, its potential value as a host plant for swallowtails is diminished due to the change in bloom color from the breeding.

Status is challenging to grow because it tends to flop, is quite sharp after drying, making it painful to work with, and has a difficult harvest process. While it's a great dried flower, these factors make it not worth growing for me.

I am not growing annual scabiosa anymore because it requires a lot of effort to deadhead and harvest. Although it's a pretty flower that produces many blooms, the time consumed in deadheading made it not worthwhile.

I will still be growing The Perennial scabiosa because it does not require as much deadheading and harvesting effort. I will also grow a variety called star flower because it is easier to harvest, holds up well, and is useful for personal florals like boutonnieres and bouquets.
